When you saw today's headline in the Pottsville REPUBLICAN, you may have been shocked into confusion.. a Bishop at Cardinal Brennan? Allentown reconsidering? Maybe paying its respects to a school they're shutting down?
Nope.
Instead of Bishop Cullen, students and guests had the opportunity to see Bishop John Bura of the Ukrainian rite do mass at CB and take questions from the kids.
Allentown should take notes.

I would greatly appreciate it if you self-righteous little morons would stop using my religion to advance your own paltry little causes and half-assed theories about "right" and "wrong." what, the crusades and the inquisition weren't enough? grow up and get real. and while you're at it, stop using my damn name in vain, too. wusses.

man, you all think you have it so bad. just look at virginia tech. it's this kind of ignorance/arrogance that creates monsters like that. count your blessing, be kind to your fellow man, and stop whining like petulant children. a school closing is nothing in the "grand scheme" of "life"
I really don't blame your Bishop for not showing his face. You have been nothing but irrational and mean-spirited in the face of this unfortunate closure. He is not to blame. You small-minded people are.
This school closing may mean nothing to your grand scheme of life, but to the 168 children at brennan, it means everything.
it's not the first school that's ever closed and won't be the last. what makes it so damn special among all the thousands of kids who've gone through the samething elsewhere? and if i have to hear "catholic values" one more time i swear i'll vote green party next time. do you really think your 168 students are better than anyone else's kid or school? it's your own fault as parents, teachers, and administrators. dont put your guilt on the bishop. he even helped you along all these past few years. such disgusting hypocrisy. you're a bunch of spoiled little ingrates. do you even stop to think how ridiculous you must seem to people listening along, slandering your own bishop and blaming wayward priests when things don't go your way? i've overhead more than a few conversations expressing exactly that notion. i kid you not. your making a bad joke of your own cause. a million other catholic schools and ten million public and you have no choice? stop feeling sorry for yourselves and grow the hell up.
what's the point of this CB blog again?
For all of you that think we're whining little things that are completley insignificant in the world, go away and mind your own business. you obviously don't know anything about the bishop and how unfair of a process it was. how is it fair to us that the bishop is closing the school after visiting the campus only one time in nine years?? does that sound like an accurate decision could have been made?? if you want to go and complain about things, find somewhere else to do it, because the CB community has been through enough already. and as for being irrational and mean spirited, what would you act like if it was your school?? i honestly don't expect any of you to sit around and allow it to just happen.
you talk about "Catholic Values"...you obviously have none. If you did, you'd care a little more about these kids. This school was more than a school, and it was a family. We don't slander the Bishop, we tell the truth about him. We don't slander the priests, we also tell the truth about them. Maybe if you would get your head out of your ass, you'd know enough about the situation to keep your mouth shut.
oh and another thing: did you know that we weren't allowed to advertise the school because it would take away from another high schools publicity, and the bishop's annual appeal. Where is that money going to?? the only schools that seem to matter to the diocese: CB is obviously not one of them.
